New iPod Touch To Come With Taller 1136×640 Display; 32-Nm A5 Chip

iOS Developer Will Strafach aka @Chronic has tweeted that Apple’s next generation iPod touch will come with a taller display with 1136×640 resolution, just like the iPhone 5.

Strafach had earlier revealed that iPhone 5 and the new iPhone will allow users to take panoramic photos using the native Camera app.

Strafach has also tweeted that internal code name of the new iPod touch is N78AP and it will be powered by S5L8942X processor.

oh wait, another thing worth mentioning: the new iPod touch / N78AP runs on an S5L8942X, NOT an S5L8950X.

The S5L8942X application processor currently powers the $399 iPad 2 that was introduced along with iPad 3 and the third-generation Apple TV and is manufactured using the 32-nm process. The 32-nm chip technology make chips more efficient, which in turn is supposed to improve battery life.

According to rumors, Apple will continue to offer an A4-based fourth generation iPod touch, which may come with some minor improvements as the entry-level iPod touch along with redesigned next generation iPod touch.

Apple is expected to offer the entry-level iPod touch at or around $200 price point.

Apple is expected to launch the fifth generation iPod Touch alongside iPhone 5 at tomorrow’s media event, which starts in less than 24 hours.
